Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use
- GENERAL
These general terms and conditions of sale and use of ski lift passes apply to all users of the ski lifts.
If any provision of these terms and conditions should be missing, it shall be considered governed by the practices in force in the ski lift industry for companies whose registered office is located in France.
The purchase of a ski lift transportation ticket (hereinafter referred to as the “PASS”) implies that the person (hereinafter referred to as the “Customer”) has read and accepted these general terms and conditions of sale and use in their entirety, without prejudice to the usual legal remedies.
- OPERATOR
The operator of the AUSSOIS ski area is:
Société de Gestion des Activités Touristiques Parrachee Vanoise, hereinafter referred to as the Operator.
Registered Office: Société Parrachee Vanoise – 43, route des barrages – 73500 AUSSOIS – France Tel +33 (0)4 79 20 42 20 contact@aussois.ski Siret 815 111 406 000 22
- COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY RULES
Any pass holder is required to comply with the safety regulations relating to transportation by ski lifts, including the police regulations displayed at the departure stations of the ski lifts, the accompanying pictograms, and any instructions given by the Operator's staff, under penalty of sanctions.
- PASSES
The pass consists of a medium on which a transport ticket is encoded and a duplicate or receipt indicating the main characteristics of the ticket.
Passes may be used during the validity period of the transport ticket under the following conditions:
- Annual Haute Maurienne Vanoise passes provide unlimited skiing in Aussois and in the five other Haute Maurienne Vanoise ski resorts (Bessans, Bonneval-sur-Arc, La Norma, Val Cenis and Valfréjus).
- Passes valid for 6 days or more (excluding 6-day pedestrian passes) provide unlimited skiing in Aussois and one day in each of the five other Haute Maurienne Vanoise ski resorts listed above during the validity period of the dated pass.
For annual HMV passes and passes valid for 6 days or more: unlimited bus access to all resorts and villages of Haute Maurienne Vanoise from Sunday to Friday.
Please note: for safety reasons (evacuation speed), ski or snowboard boots may not be worn on buses S50, S51, S52 and S53. They may be placed in the luggage compartment with skis/snowboards and poles. Cross-country ski boots may be worn.
- Passes valid from 1 to 5 days provide access only to the Aussois ski area.
- “Beginner” and “Hiker” passes provide access only to certain ski lifts within the Aussois ski area. Information concerning the lifts included is detailed in the rates displayed at the ticket offices.
The user must carry their pass throughout the entire journey on the ski lift, from the departure area to the arrival area. To facilitate transmission of the encoded information at the control gates, the pass should be worn on the left side and preferably kept away from mobile phones, keys, and any packaging containing aluminum.
Any pass with a duration longer than the shortest duration offered is strictly personal, non-transferable, and may not be lent, whether free of charge or for payment.
- MEDIA
Transport tickets are encoded on hands-free smart cards automatically detected by access gates. If the customer does not already have a rechargeable card, it will be charged in addition to the transport ticket price (including free passes). The card can then be reloaded at ticket offices or online at www.aussois360.com.
- PHOTOGRAPHS
Pass holders are photographed by the control gate during their first passage. This photograph serves as a reference for inspectors during subsequent checks.
The sale of annual passes, season passes, and free passes is subject to the submission or capture of a recent passport-style photograph, taken from the front, without sunglasses or headwear.
This photograph will be stored by PARRACHEE VANOISE in its ticketing system to facilitate possible reloads or reissuance of the pass, unless the Customer objects.
- PRICES, DISCOUNTS AND FREE PASSES
All public sales prices for passes, transport tickets and media are displayed at sales points. These prices are expressed in euros, excluding insurance and including all applicable taxes.
They are also available on the website www.aussois.com. Discounts or free passes are available for various categories of people according to the conditions available at sales points and upon presentation, at the time of purchase, of documents proving eligibility for the fare advantage (identity card, passport, health insurance card, family record book, etc. – see conditions at the ticket office). No photocopies of supporting documents will be accepted. No discount or free pass will be applied after the purchase has been completed.
- PAYMENT METHODS
Any issuance of a pass requires payment of the corresponding price in euros:
- by cheque drawn in euros and made payable to Société Parrachee Vanoise, upon presentation of a valid identity document;
- by cash in euros (€);
- by bank card (excluding American Express);
- by ANCV holiday vouchers (no change given).
- PROOF OF SALE
Article L541-15-10 of the French Environmental Code prohibits the systematic printing (unless expressly requested by the customer) of duplicates, receipts, or bank card tickets from 01/01/2023. Customers will be asked during each transaction whether they wish to receive their receipts.
- PASS INSPECTION
The Customer must carry their pass throughout the entire journey on the ski lift, from the departure area to the arrival area. The absence of a pass, the use of an invalid transport ticket, or failure to comply with the police regulations displayed at the departure points of the ski lifts, as observed by an authorized inspector, will result in:
- either payment of a fixed compensation extinguishing public prosecution. This compensation is equal to five times the value of a daily transport ticket: a 1-day pass at the public rate applied in Aussois (Articles L342-15, R342-19 and R342-20 of the Tourism Code, Articles 529-3 et seq. of the Criminal Procedure Code and Article L2241-36 of the Transport Code). This compensation may be increased, where applicable, by administrative fees (late penalties) amounting to €50.00 if the fine is not paid within 48 hours.
- or legal proceedings.
In order to combat fraud, users are informed that photographs are automatically taken when passing through certain gates in the Aussois ski area. These photographs are compared by inspectors and may be used to identify fraudulent users.
The photographs are intended solely for the Operator. They are retained for the validity period of the photographed user’s pass.
Authorized inspectors may request the presentation of any document justifying fare reductions or free access granted to the holder of a reduced-rate or free transport ticket. If the offender refuses or is unable to prove their identity, the authorized inspector shall immediately report the matter to a judicial police officer of the National Police or National Gendarmerie with territorial jurisdiction, who may order the immediate presentation of the offender.
In the event of suspicion of fraudulent use of a pass or non-compliance with police regulations, a pass may be temporarily blocked.
An authorized inspector may also proceed with the immediate confiscation of the pass in order to return it to its rightful owner or provide evidence of an offense.
SGAT Parrachee Vanoise reserves the right to retain a pass until its owner comes to retrieve it.
- LOSS, DESTRUCTION OR THEFT OF A PASS
In the event of loss, destruction or theft of a pass, the Customer must report it to the ski lift ticket offices. The Customer must present proof of purchase showing all pass details (duration, category, unique number, etc.). After verification, a new pass will be issued for the remaining validity period subject to a processing fee of €10.00 per lost pass, corresponding to the cost of searching for and deactivating the original pass (excluding the cost of a new card).
The pass declared lost, destroyed or stolen will be deactivated. A period of up to one hour may be necessary to locate, block the lost pass and issue a replacement ticket.
Recovered passes may be collected from the ski lift ticket offices.
- CLOSURE OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE
Only a complete shutdown lasting more than half a day of all ski lifts within the Aussois ski area may give rise to compensation for the loss suffered by a pass holder, upon presentation of the pass and completion of a compensation request form issued by the Operator’s ticket offices.
The supporting documents together with the request form must be sent to PARRACHEE VANOISE within 30 days. Compensation may take one of the following forms, at the Customer’s choice:
- either an immediate extension of the transport ticket validity period;
- or a credit note in days to be used no later than the end of the winter season following the current season;
- or a deferred refund equal to the difference between the price paid by the Customer and the price of a pass with a shorter consecutive-day duration.
Only passes purchased directly from the Operator and paid at the public rate by the holder are eligible for compensation. Customers who purchased their transport tickets through accommodation providers or tour operators must submit compensation requests directly to them.
- ANNUAL HMV (HAUTE MAURIENNE VANOISE) PASSES – REFUND POLICY
IMPORTANT: In all cases, only passes purchased and paid for directly by the Customer from Société Parrachee Vanoise may be compensated by Société Parrachee Vanoise. Otherwise, reference should be made to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale of the entity that sold the pass.
The validity period of Haute Maurienne Vanoise annual passes runs from October 1 of the current year to September 30 of the following year.
Specific sales conditions apply to valid Haute Maurienne Vanoise annual passes. These conditions are communicated either at the point of sale or by email when the order confirmation is issued for online purchases made through Société Parrachee Vanoise.
➢ Partially Used Passes
If transport passes are only partially used, they are neither refundable nor exchangeable.
Pass holders are informed that this risk may be covered by specific insurance companies.
➢ Interruption of Ski Lift Operations
The opening guarantee consists of having at least one of the five Haute Maurienne Vanoise alpine ski resorts (Valfréjus, La Norma, Aussois, Val Cenis, Bonneval-sur-Arc) open during the period from December 1 to April 30 of the current season, for a minimum total of 90 days, consecutive or not.
Compensation will only be granted in the event of closure of the ski lifts accessible with the pass that prevents fulfillment of the opening guarantee.
In such a case, compensation shall be calculated as follows:
D = P x (90 - J) / 90
D = Compensation
P = Price paid
J = Actual opening days
The Customer may not claim any amount or service exceeding this fixed compensation.
- REFUNDS
Any issued pass that has not been used or has only been partially used shall neither be refunded nor exchanged, regardless of the reason: illness, accident, or any other personal reason affecting the holder, regardless of the pass validity period.
Undated passes or passes with non-consecutive days must be fully used during the current season. Beyond this period, they may no longer be used and no refund or extension of validity shall be granted.
Pass holders are informed that this risk may be covered by specific insurance companies. Information is available at all sales points.
